A lot of people do not see the point of monitor protectors in general, let alone LCD monitor screen protectors specifically. They do not understand why they should bother with buying yet one more accessory, believing that there is nothing that could hurt their monitor and its screen in the first place. Honestly, that is not the case at all. Whether you have an LCD monitor or a laptop – or, really, anything, any kind of device that has an LCD screen – you need to protect the display. If you do not take care of your LCD display, then pretty soon, it is simply going to be worthless to you.

Believe it or not, LCD monitors can easily fall victim to such things as dust and dirt particles, scratches and gouges, general wear and tear, grease, oil, food, and any number of other problems. They cause a lot of damage to the screen, and can render it completely inoperable. It just will not work any longer, and replacing an LCD monitor can get really costly.
